Neighborhood Day replaces the former annual gatherings of the now-closed Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC) which voted itself out of existence in March 2016.  The Bowen Center for Neighborhood Advocacy, a non-partisan 501c(3) organization dedicated to strengthening Neighborhoods, has stepped into this vacuum.  The Center believes that committed Membership and inspired Leadership are the keys to building and maintaining strong, viable Neighborhoods.  We also believe that healthy Neighborhoods are the vital building blocks on which higher levels of government are built -- vibrant cities and states, and ultimately a strong national government.  If America's Neighborhoods are strong and "alive," the higher levels will then stand on a firm base.  But if our Neighborhoods are blighted and decaying, it follows that all other levels of government will be built on very shaky ground indeed.
