Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at the intersection of Blanco Road and Loop 1604
Posted on Mar 8th, 2026
As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, TxDOT will soon implement a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at the intersection of Blanco Road and Loop 1604. This innovative intersection design shifts traffic briefly to the left side of the roadway as drivers travel through the interchange, allowing vehicles to make free-flowing left turns without crossing opposing traffic.

Because the Loop 1604 and Blanco Road intersection is one of the most heavily traveled areas in north San Antonio, the DDI design will help improve mobility and safety in the corridor.

Key benefits include:

· Easier travel: Free-flow left turns create smoother movements through the intersection

· Faster trips: Shorter signal cycles mean less time waiting at red lights

· Safer conditions: Fewer conflict points reduce the potential for crashes

DDI Project Timeline:

· March 2026: Traffic shifts to DDI conditions

· Spring 2026: Major roadway and bridge work complete

· Summer 2026: Final phase of construction

· Late Summer 2026: DDI is complete

Stone Oak POA - 2022 Community of the Year!
Posted on May 4th, 2022
We are excited to share, the Stone Oak Property Owners Association was recently awarded Community Association of the Year – Mega Category for 2021 by the San Antonio Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI).  There were five other contenders in the Mega Association category (meaning an association of over 1,000 units), all worthy of recognition. Entries were reviewed, and the winner was decided by the Houston Chapter.  Awards were presented March 19, 2022.  CAI is the foremost authority in community association management, and offers education opportunities to homeowners, HOA volunteers and Board leaders, professional association managers, and business professionals.  You can learn more about them at caionline.org.

All the hard work and dedication of our Stone Oak POA Board of Directors, volunteers, and management company staff are apparent every day to all who live and work in Stone Oak.  It is easy to see the hard work put forth by our staff and crew on our 83 medians that have become the signature of the Stone Oak area, however, a lot also happens behind the scenes.  Monthly Board Meetings, POA committee meetings, project coordination, deadlines, community meetings, financial work regarding assessments, resale packages, enforcing policies and restrictions- these all contribute to ensuring Stone Oak remains one of the premier communities in San Antonio.   We are truly honored and appreciative of this special recognition.

This award is truly a reflection of teamwork at its best!
Thank you to all who make Stone Oak a great place to be!
