Location: Arneson River Theatre & 2 1/2 mile downtown area of the River Walk
A procession of decorated floats transforms the River Walk into a floating Mardi Gras celebration. Krewes of costumed revelers and live entertainment celebrate San Antonio style.
Enjoy live music, entertainment, and food trucks. The public is encouraged to come dressed in masks, costumes, and beads. Free admission.

Stone Oak POA Neighborhood Representative Committee Meeting

The Neighborhood Representative Committee (NRC) meetings are one hour in length, and take place the second Wednesday of each month at 7PM at the Club at Sonterra. (Meetings are not held in December or January)
Each meeting starts with a presentation of interest. Past presentations have included SAWS, SAPD, CPS, TXDOT, The City of San Antonio Transportation and Capital Improvements Department, Parks & Wildlife, etc.
Many of these organizations have come to rely on this group to spread important notices throughout our Stone Oak community (such as the recent mail thefts, water main breaks, or street improvements.) CONFUCIUS WISHING LANTERNS ON THE WATER

Location: River Walk, Convention Center Lagoon (near Ruth's Chris Steak House)
An ethereal experience of casting lanterns into the river in honor of loved ones, hopes, dreams, and wishes. Admission is free, and lanterns are $5 each (sold at the event). Lanterns are made of eco-friendly rice paper and contain a floating LED candle. Pens will be available to decorate and personalize your lanterns. Entertainment includes festival dancing to thematic music. Asian-inspired food available for purchase.
This event serves as the grand finale to the 30th anniversary of UTSA Institute of Texan Culture’s Asian Festival (10 AM- 5PM). For more info on the Asian Festival go to:

Come on out for a night of local art, beer & wine sampling, and food trucks! We’ll also be revealing our official ADL Fiesta Medal! Be one of the first to get a sneak peek of our Fiesta medal and with a donation you can snag one for yourself! Proceeds will benefit the pets at the Animal Defense League of Texas. Open Public Meeting re: New Classen Steubing Park on Hardy Oak

A new city park is planned for Hardy Oak Blvd, between Sonterra Blvd and the new Huebner/Hardy Oak connection.
Residents are invited to attend a meeting at Parman Library to discuss the development of this park, named Classen Steubing Park. The City of San Antonio has hired a consultant to assist with the planning and development of the park, and comments are welcome.

REAGAN ORCHESTRA WINS HONORABLE MENTION IN AMERICAN PRIZE:
The Reagan High School Chamber Orchestra won Honorable Mention in the American Prize, an annual national competition designed to recognize and reward the very best of performing arts in the US. The Reagan Orchestra competed nationally via recorded orchestral performance in the High School Orchestra Division. Criteria for winners are wide ranging and include musicality, rhythmic incisiveness, tone quality, intonation, among others. An Honorable Mention in the company of the finalist programs and Directors is indeed an honor. Congratulations to Mr. Sixto Elizondo, Mr. Nathan Sharplin, and the Chamber Orchestra!
REAGAN ORCHESTRA WINS STRONG PRESENCE IN TMEA REGION PERFORMANCE:
Members of the Reagan High School Orchestra auditioned for selection in the Texas Music Educators Association All Region Orchestra. Competitive and accomplished Reagan Orchestra students won 24 seats in the top Region Symphony Orchestra and nine seats in the Philharmonic Orchestra. Reagan High School scored 24 seats, nearly double the number of any other orchestra in the region!

The February District 9 Neighborhood Alliance meeting will be held at 7:00PM, Wednesday, February 28th. (Meetings are always held the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Stone Oak Methodist Hospital, (Classrooms #1&2), 1139 E. Sonterra Blvd. (just off Hwy 281 in Stone Oak).
NEISD Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Brian Gottardy will address State funding issues; as always our Councilman has been invited.
Directions:
If you are coming north on Hwy 281, go under Loop 1604 and immediately take the Sonterra Blvd. exit to the right; cross over to the right and follow the signs to Sonterra Blvd.; at the top of the hill take a right on to Sonterra Blvd., proceed through the first traffic light, at the next traffic light you will see the hospital on your right.
If you are coming around Loop 1604 westbound, take the Stone Oak Parkway exit, go north on Stone Oak Parkway and turn right on Sonterra Blvd.; proceed east on Sonterra through the traffic light at Hardy Oak and you will see the hospital on your left.
Park as close to the main entrance as possible, go through the Benson Pavilion entrance and the classrooms are to your left. We will be in Classrooms #1&2.
