Stone Oak POA Neighborhood Representative Committee Meeting
Wednesday, April 11th, 2018, 7pm at Club at Sonterra
The Neighborhood Representative Committee (NRC) meetings are one hour in length, and take place the second Wednesday of each month at 7PM at the Club at Sonterra. (Meetings are not held in December or January)
Each meeting starts with a presentation of interest. Past presentations have included SAWS, SAPD, CPS, TXDOT, The City of San Antonio Transportation and Capital Improvements Department, Parks & Wildlife, etc.
Many of these organizations have come to rely on this group to spread important notices throughout our Stone Oak community (such as the recent mail thefts, water main breaks, or street improvements.) Please check our "Neighborhoods of Stone Oak" page to see if a representative is listed for your neighborhood. If not, please consider volunteering. Call the office at 210-490-9481 for more info.

North East ISD will present the annual concert "An Evening With Strings".
The concert will be held four consecutive nights and will feature 5th grade strings, middle school orchestras and combined NEISD senior orchestras.
All performance will begin at 7:00pm in the Littleton Gym at Blossom Athletic Center.
This event is free and open to the public.
Johnson and Madison clusters will perform Monday, April 16th.
Reagan and Lee with NESA clusters will perform Tuesday, April 17th.
Churchill and Roosevelt clusters will perform Wednesday, April 18th.
MacArthur cluster will perform Wednesday, April 19th.

Special Meeting with SAWS Regarding Construction in Stone Oak
Wednesday, April 18th, 2018, 6:30pm at Las Lomas Elementary
Special meeting to discuss the terminus plant & pipeline construction.
It will be held at Las Lomas Elementary school at 6:30 PM.
This project is HUGE and will impact the daily travel of many people. The terminus will include 2 – 80-foot water towers next to Las Lomas Elementary on Hardy Oak Blvd.
**Extended road closures are involved, including parts of Summer Knoll, a heavily traveled road before and after school for Reagan students!
On the plus side, in discussions regarding the project, SAWS has been very receptive to the concerns of residents and definitely appears to be willing to work with them.

District 9 Tree Give-a-Way for Earth Day

Join Councilman Courage and the D9 staff Friday, April 20th from 9AM to 12PM at Blossom Park to receive a one-gallon tree in observance of Earth Day. Supplies are limited to 100 and will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Our office will also be planting three 15-gallon Mexican Plum Trees if you'd like to pitch in!

NEISD 2018 Career Expo

North East Independent School District wants to invite you to our 20th Annual Career Expo on Tuesday, April 24 from 6pm-8pm at Blossom Athletic Center. All high school program areas will be present to answer questions about high school programs of study and endorsements. The magnet programs will be on site to provide information, and over 60 businesses will have tables set up to visit with you and your student about their company and future career options available to your student.
In addition, there will be a variety of Food Trucks on site for you to buy dinner and dessert. The Following will be in attendance, B Daddy’s, Cheesy Janes, Sensational Salads, Straight Outta Philly, and Mr. Softee. All the food trucks take cash or credit and will be donating 10% of their proceeds to the NEISD Career & Technical scholarship fund.

The April District 9 Neighborhood Alliance meeting will be held at 7:00PM, Wednesday, April 25th. (Meetings are always held the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Stone Oak Methodist Hospital, (Classrooms #1&2), 1139 E. Sonterra Blvd. (just off Hwy 281 in Stone Oak).
Directions:
If you are coming north on Hwy 281, go under Loop 1604 and immediately take the Sonterra Blvd. exit to the right; cross over to the right and follow the signs to Sonterra Blvd.; at the top of the hill take a right on to Sonterra Blvd., proceed through the first traffic light, at the next traffic light you will see the hospital on your right.
If you are coming around Loop 1604 westbound, take the Stone Oak Parkway exit, go north on Stone Oak Parkway and turn right on Sonterra Blvd.; proceed east on Sonterra through the traffic light at Hardy Oak and you will see the hospital on your left.
Park as close to the main entrance as possible, go through the Benson Pavilion entrance and the classrooms are to your left. We will be in Classrooms #1&2.
