My name is Brandie Regalado and I am a registered yoga teacher. I host a free yoga class every Tuesday at 5:45pm in the field to the right of McAllister dog park. It's 100% free just bring a mat, some water and a smile.
The classes are 1 hour long and for all levels but can easily be modified for any level. Children and families are welcome.
The address is a little odd as there is no number part of the address, you can just google McAllister Dog Park, but the address is just Buckhorn Rd, SA, TX 78247. It's the only thing on that road and there is a parking lot right by where we will be. Please reach out to me with any questions:

ADL - Clear the Shelter Event

Help a beloved pet find a home! On August 19th, the Animal Defense League of Texas is taking part in the Clear the Shelters event with Telemundo! There will be reduced and waived adoption fees for many of the pets at both ADL locations. Waived adoption fees for FIV positive cats/kittens and select dogs. Only $20 to adopt an adult cat or dog 6 months or older. There will also be food trucks at our main campus. We have two locations where you can find your furry family member: ADL Main campus located at 11300 Nacogdoches RD and the Paul Jolly Center for Pet Adoptions located at 210 Tuleta DR.

District 9 Neighborhood Alliance Meeting

The August District 9 Neighborhood Alliance meeting will be held at 7:00PM, Wednesday, August 23rd .
This month I have asked our City Manager, Sheryl Sculley, to provide a presentation on the 2018 City Budget, to include a discussion of the new City Council policy direction of budgeting through an equity lens and the impact of this policy on the budget. I have also asked her to discuss the status of negotiations with the fire fighters’ union; plus any other topic she would like to discuss that she feels would be of interest to the Alliance. It should be an interesting evening!
We will meet at the Stone Oak Methodist Hospital, (Classrooms #1&2), 1139 E. Sonterra Blvd. (just off Hwy 281 in Stone Oak). As always, our Councilman has been invited.
Directions:
If you are coming north on Hwy 281, go under Loop 1604 and immediately take the Sonterra Blvd. exit to the right; cross over to the right and follow the signs to Sonterra Blvd.; at the top of the hill take a right on to Sonterra Blvd., proceed through the first traffic light, at the next traffic light you will see the hospital on your right.
If you are coming around Loop 1604, take the Stone Oak Parkway exit, go north on Stone Oak Parkway and turn right on Sonterra Blvd.; proceed east on Sonterra through the traffic light at Hardy Oak and you will see the hospital on your left.
Park as close to the main entrance as possible, go through the Benson Pavilion entrance and the classrooms are to your left. We will be in Classrooms #1&2.

Artsy Barksy Art Stop

GET READY FOR ADL’S VERY FIRST ARTSY BARKSY ART STOP ON SEPTEMBER 29TH!
Shop for art from local artists, sample beer and wine from San Antonio breweries, grab a bite to eat from a food truck, and have a good time! This is a dog-friendly event. Just make sure your furry friend is well-behaved in crowds, on a leash, and is updated on rabies vaccinations (must be wearing rabies tag). Proceeds from art sales will go towards the care of the homeless pets at the Animal Defense League of Texas.

One of the biggest ways to help ADL make room for pets impacted by Hurricane Harvey is to adopt a furry friend.
We're making trips to areas impacted by Hurricane Harvey and are bringing in displaced cats and dogs into our shelter. Houston PetSet will be helping us communicate with Houston animal shelters that need help. Remember when you adopt, you’re actually saving TWO lives!
